Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is a Vinyasa-style
format, including an ecclectic blend of a variety of flavors
to create a multi-disciplinary experience!
Our teacher trainings are open to students of all levels & ability. We don't require that you've been practicing for 300 years because we've seen with our own eyes that anyone willing to show up and participate can learn a tremendous amount and contribute greatly to the group dynamic. In fact, sometimes the raw beginner is more open to learning than someone with a more advanced practice who thinks they know something about this yoga stuff!
Topics that are covered in all our formats include, but certainly are not limited to: principles of alignment, adjustments & assists, anatomy & physiology, bandhas, pranayama, chanting, meditation, chakras, yamas & niyamas, communication skills, ethics, history, lifestyle, sanskrit, sequencing, practice teaching, book discussions, video presentations & more.
There will be short homework assignments given between each week or weekend, depending on which format you choose.
The focus is on learning to teach vinyasa yoga, yet you will be exposed to many different styles to better help you gain a multidisciplinary approach to teaching. You will receive a vast array of tools from which to begin teaching safe, well-sequenced classes to all levels.
Upon completion of teacher training & with approval from dolly, you will receive a certificate of completion from asmi yoga along with an application to the yoga alliance.
Please do everything humanly possible to attend every session! That being said, we understand that life doesn't get put on hold just because you've committed to teacher training. Sometimes situations arise that will need your attention and you may need to miss some of the training. If you do need to miss any, please let dolly know. You will be responsible for making up any lost time & if it requires dolly's presence it will be at an additional $75 per hour.
